Obituary

Margo Boyette (née McFadden), 79, of Melbourne, passed away peacefully on October 30th, 2020. Mrs. Boyette was born in Dobbs Ferry, New York on March 5, 1941, attended Junior High in Japan and graduated from Melbourne High School in 1959. She was a resident of Indian Harbour Beach and her beloved beachside community since 1963.

During the early years of the U.S. Space Program for Apollo, Mrs. Boyette was employed as a documentation specialist by The Boeing Company at Cape Kennedy/Cape Canaveral. She knew the importance of her job and the Space Race and always cherished meeting the original and most famous astronauts. She held that period of her life in great importance.

In the early 1970s, she left Boeing to become a full-time mom to her adopted son and daughter, raising her family in Indian Harbour Beach. She also enjoyed her bowling league where she served as Secretary. She was known as a devoted volunteer with Apple Corp at Ocean Breeze Elementary and loved volunteering with her daughter’s Girl Scout troop. She also supported her son’s Boy Scout activities.

Margo had a great love of nature, plants and enjoying the beauty of the Banana River in the backyard or her longtime home in Indian Harbour Beach. She was affectionately dubbed with the name Go-Go by her first nephew and that legacy continued with her two grandchildren and so many that knew her. She was very sweet, kind natured and never met a stranger. Her dry sense of humor and quick wit always kept us laughing until the end. Her zest for life will never be forgotten and will be missed. She is deeply loved.

She is survived by her son Scott Boyette and son-in-law Jeremy Craig, of Decatur, Ga., daughter Traci Bruner and grandchildren Chris and Alissa Bruner of Melbourne, Florida, sister, Sharon McFadden Meehan, of Rockledge, Florida, nephew Ken Meehan of Raleigh, NC, niece Kimberly Meehan Agee of Melbourne and extended family and friends.

Margo was predeceased by her Father Clifford Ellison McFadden, Mother Viva Valentina Sisson McFadden Johnson, Husband of 31 years, Norman Rodney Boyette and longtime companion Jerry Aiken.

Services for Mrs. Boyette will be held at 3pm Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Brownlie-Maxwell Funeral Home in Melbourne. Due to social distancing, there will be limited seating on a first come, first served basis.
